In terms of lifecycle thinking, CHG-MERIDIAN relies on refurbishment and reuse to extend product lifecycles. We consider ourselves part of the circular economy, helping to conserve resources and mitigate climate change through our business model.

We support our customers along the entire lifecycle of their technology assets, from rollout and use to certified data erasure, refurbishing, and remarketing. Reusing devices instead of procuring and then disposing of them every time conserves resources and improves our environmental footprint.

Responsible procurement

Needs-based asset procurement; CHG-MERIDIAN code of conduct, and a Group-wide procurement guideline for all business partners to ensure compliance with environmental and social standards

Eco-friendly distribution

Delivery of asset to the customer; shipment in reusable packaging

Customer phase

Customer use phase, duration of use varies

Secure data erasure

Sensitive company data is completely erased using a certified procedure after asset has been collected (eraSURE®)

Asset is checked and professionally refurbished; asset is only recycled if it cannot be repaired or the customer's level of security requires it

Asset is made available on the secondary market via sales partners

Reuse of asset extends its lifespan

CHG-MERIDIAN offers its customers the opportunity to make a financial contribution to climate protection through the carbonZER0® product.

Our Technology Centers

We have been refurbishing used equipment at our Technology Centers for the past 20 years. Devices undergo visual and technical refurbishment in line with the principles of the circular economy. We also have a global network of certified refurbishing partners who recondition equipment locally to the highest standards. We are proud of our refurbishing rate of 95 percent. But what about the rest? Any equipment that cannot be reused is sustainably returned to the material cycle through our certified recycling partner

Our sustainability mangement

We have committed to setting company-wide emissions reduction targets in line with the latest climate science. In doing so, we want to make a demonstrable contribution to counteracting the effects of the climate crisis. To this end, we will set ourselves targets as part of the SBTi by 2025 at the latest. At the same time, we will continue to participate in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). We were able to achieve a C score in both 2022 and 2023. Our basic approach is to always avoid emissions first, then reduce them and finally offset them.

Environmental management was obtained for all sites in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2021.

95 %

of IT assets returned from leasing can be remarketed and given a second life cycle.
