1. Return Timeline

All equipment must be returned within the timeframe specified in your lease agreement.
If the equipment is not received before the end of the grace period, additional rent may be charged.

If you anticipate delays, please notify CHG at your earliest convenience with an updated return date.

2. Device Security Requirements

Before returning, ensure that all devices are:

  • Free of passwords or security locks
  • Removed from any MDM, ABM, or MAM systems

If locked devices are received:

  • CHG will notify you of the issue
  • You will have five (5) business days to remove the locks
  • A $55 re-processing fee will apply per reattempt
  • If locks are not removed, fair market value charges will apply
3. Required Components

The following items must be returned with each device:

  • Hard drives
  • Batteries
  • Adapters, chargers, and power cords

Failure to return these components may result in additional service charges, which vary by asset and model.

4. Equipment Condition

Returned equipment must be:

  • Fully functional
  • Free of non-standard damage
  • Showing only ordinary wear and tear
  • Free of custom stickers or labels

Devices that do not meet return standards may incur charges for diminished value.

If substitutions have been approved:

  • Clearly indicate both the original and replacement serial numbers
  • By returning the equipment, you fully relinquish all ownership or rights to CHG
6. Data Erasure

You are responsible for removing all personal or business data, including:

  • Files, images, applications, and other content

General notes and information

Handling of accessories

How do I return the accessories of the devices correctly?

  • All accessories that were included in the scope of delivery (e.g. power adapters, mice, keyboards, cables, etc.) are an integral part of the device and must therefore be returned together with the device.
  • Sort devices and accessories by device or accessory category and provide them packed in boxes.
  • Small quantities of accessories can also be packed together in a common box.
  • Label each  box clearly visible from the outside with its contents and number of pieces (e.g. 25 x USB keyboards, 30 x notebook power supplies).
  • The packaging and labelling of all equipment, boxes and pallets must be carried out in accordance with the currently valid Dangerous Goods Regulations (ADR)

Handling of batteries

How do I return loose batteries correctly?

  • Loose batteries – i.e. batteries that are not permanently installed in the device – must be registered separately in advance. The corresponding cartons must be marked in accordance with the currently applicable ADR regulations.
  • Pack batteries without the original packaging so that the contact terminals are completely and securely taped off.
  • Batteries in their original packaging or individually wrapped batteries do not require additional masking.
  • Place the batteries in the boxes so that they cannot slip.

⚠️ Defective rechargeable batteries or batteries may not be returned and must be disposed of independently and professionally by the sender.

A battery is considered damaged if one or more of the following characteristics are present:

  • Significant damage to the housing
  • Thermal deformations, e.g. melted connection cables or warped housing
  • Heat generation when switched off (not during use or charging)
  • Leakage of liquids
  • Leakage of gases
