Practice meets school: CHG-MERIDIAN introduces IT and media design to students at St. Konrad secondary school

In the past few weeks, a 9th-grade class from St. Konrad Secondary School in Ravensburg faced an exciting challenge: As part of a joint project with CHG-MERIDIAN, the students have been immersed in the world of IT and media design – not just in theory, but also through practical implementation in real projects.

After the successful pilot project with a 10th-grade class last year, CHG-MERIDIAN supported the computer science and media design lessons of a 9th-grade class this year. In three preparatory sessions, the company's experts taught fundamental concepts from both fields. Then it was time for hands-on experience: Over two project days, the students programmed their own digital rock-paper-scissors game, allowing them to compete against the computer. On the third day, they took on the role of media professionals and worked in groups to develop a webinar on a selected topic – including scriptwriting, sound direction, and live production in CHG-MERIDIAN’s TV studio using professional equipment.

"It was great to see the creativity and commitment with which the students approached the tasks," reports Pascal Spiller, a developer at CHG-MERIDIAN who helped supervise the project. "Working in the studio, in particular, was a completely new experience for many of them. In the end, everyone was proud to have produced their own webinar – with everything that goes with it."
