CHG-MERIDIAN ends 2007 with record in new business

The CHG-MERIDIAN Group has ended the 2007 business year with a record in new investment volume – the sum of acquisition costs of newly acquired leasing goods. A total volume of €655.7 million was made in contracts. This corresponds to a growth of around 7% compared to the previous year. The foreign markets of the CHG-MERIDIAN, particularly in western Europe, were, once again, the main growth regions. These areas contributed, with 39.4%, to the new investment volume while business in Germany was at the same level as the previous year. Company CEO Jürgen Mossakowski was also satisfied with the Group earnings: “In an environment defined by tough competition we were able to improve our operating profit according to growth in new business.”

The number of employees in the AG in Germany increased by 9.5% to 286 last year; the entire company group counted 500 employees at the end of the year. “The strong growth in this area,” says Mossakowski, “is a result of the continued development to the so-called IT portfolio manager.” In past years the Group has developed from being solely a finance company to a provider of structured project financing coupled with service management components – an IT portfolio management company. “We have an increasing number of projects in which we optimise our customer’s IT infrastructure, tailor-made according to their individual business processes. For this our experts analyse our customer’s future needs and develop, together with them, a strategy for a flexible and cost efficient realisation. This incorporates services ranging from acquisition and realisation to support during the entire life cycle right up to the end professional and secure deletion of data from the returned devices,” says Dirk Stobbe, Sales Director.

CHG-MERIDIAN wants to continue its growth also in 2008 and intends to win market shares particularly in Germany. Both directors still see great growth potential in the combination of financing and IT service management.
